At Graniterock, supporting our communities isn’t a side project. It’s who we are.
We captured that spirit in our Community Impact Report, which highlights the many ways Graniterock People show up as volunteers, mentors, sponsors and neighbors across the Central Coast and Bay Area.
Whether it’s inspiring middle schoolers to love math, powering quarry operations with renewable energy or lacing up running shoes to raise money for local schools, Graniterock People are all in on building strong communities.
In 2025, Graniterock supported 109 community organizations and groups focused on youth education, environmental stewardship and other programs that help our communities thrive. That impact is driven by Graniterock Cares, a companywide commitment to strengthening the places we live and work.
One of the company’s signature efforts is the Bruce W. Woolpert Algebra Academy. Since 2010, the Academy has helped more than 1,300 middle school students discover their potential through hands-on algebra instruction and real-world problem solving. In 2025 alone, 130 students from San Benito, Santa Cruz and Monterey counties took part in this weeklong summer program. Building skills, confidence and new visions for their futures.
We’re equally proud of the Woolpert Family Scholarship program, which supports the children and grandchildren of Graniterock team members as they pursue higher education. Since 2018, 226 scholarships totaling nearly $500,000 have been awarded, an investment not just in students, but in families and future leaders.
Graniterock’s working operations also become gathering places for good causes.
At the A.R. Wilson Quarry, more than 200 runners and walkers took part in the 2025 Rock & Run, raising $43,000 for Aromas School and San Juan Elementary School. At Southside Sand & Gravel in Hollister, another 200 community members joined the River Run in support of the YMCA of San Benito County, helping expand access to youth programs and wellness opportunities.
The annual Open House at Quail Hollow Sand Plant in the Santa Cruz Mountains offers a different kind of experience by inviting the public to explore a rare and beautiful microclimate while learning how responsible sand production and habitat conservation go hand in hand. The event raises funds for Friends of Quail Hollow Ranch County Park, blending education, stewardship and community pride.
Caring for the environment is fundamental to how we operate. At the Wilson Quarry, operations are powered by 100% renewable energy through onsite solar arrays and a partnership with Central Coast Community Energy, which helps reduce the company’s carbon footprint while delivering essential materials.
Graniterock team members also roll up their sleeves for river and creek cleanups, habitat restoration projects and local improvement efforts. From supporting toy drives and youth sports to participating in parades and community fairs, team members are active contributors across the region.
Graniterock has been building strong communities since 1900. Today, that legacy lives on in the enthusiasm and generosity of our team members and partners. We are proud to be supporters and steady partners to the organizations that make our communities thrive.
This is how we build a better future.
